The Chiang Rai region is home to some 30 ethnic groups. Each year, around 30 girls from within these communities come to live and study at Monsaengdao Ecological School. Our students are aged from 12 to 18 years old and we have girls from six different ethnic groups currently attending the school.

“A great number of children in Thailand do not have the opportunity you and I have. Their access to education is limited which impairs their self-development. The children are either from poor ethnic families living in the highlands or from families living in remote areas. By providing them education, social and occupational skills we want to give them the knowledge, courage and strength to become self-sufficient and face the problems they can encounter.
